Public Sea Turtle Release

Welcome Hailey!

On Tuesday, June 10, we welcomed our third hawksbill post-hatchling intake for the year. This one was rescued by Richard of Sugarloaf Key. He found this little turtle washed up in the sea grass along with numerous sea horses. He knew this little one needed help and gave us a call. Hailey is doing quite well at our hospital. There are no signs of illness at this time, so she simply must have been carried out of the gulf stream with the ocean tides and current. Hailey loves the hospital food and dives down to the bottom of the tank just fine. She will hopefully be released this Summer back out into the gulf stream in a patch of sea weed.
