Public Sea Turtle Release

Turtle Treat

A School group of 38 students, from Cincinnati Ohio, was in the Keys visiting facilities in Marathon to learn more about our ocean residents. They were staying at Pigeon Key and visited the Turtle Hospital Thursday morning. Arriving back at Pigeon Key, weren’t they surprised to see one of the patients, met earlier, ready to be released.

Ramirez, a sub adult Loggerhead had been rescued in February, found floating seven miles north of Marathon and was treated for an impaction.

With wishes for good luck, Ramirez was given an enthusiastic send off.
