JOIN us for a Public Sea Turtle Release Friday, March 17th at Sombrero Beach, Marathon! Bring your family and friends and start St. Patrick’s Day off right! Jean,a 175 pound sub adult loggerhead sea turtle was rescued west of Duck Key late December where she was found floating and unable to dive. Jean was emaciated and treated at the Turtle Hospital for an intestinal impaction. Treatment included broad spectrum antibiotics, vitamins, lactulose and a healthy diet of squid and fish. Jean has gained 20 pounds, is healthy and ready to return to the sea! Jean will arrive in the turtle ambulance at 10:30 a.m., with release promptly at 11:00 a.m. See you there!
