The Turtle Hospital would like to sincerely thank The Jolly Roger Travel Park for their Valentine’s Day Fundraiser. Several sea turtles have been rescued from Jolly Roger and this is the second year that the community has come together to raise money for The Turtle Hospital. To help raise funds, members of Jolly Roger Travel Park cooked up a spaghetti dinner. The small fee for a heaping plate of food was collected and donated to The Turtle Hospital. In addition to the dinner, a raffle was held with items donated from local Keys businesses. In total, The Jolly Roger was able to raise more than $800. This donation couldn’t come at a better time. The Turtle Hospital is currently treating 52 patients, of which 16 are cold stunned Green sea turtles afflicted with the virus Fibropapilloma. The money raised will help provide the medical and surgical care these sea turtles desperately need.
