Susan, a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle was found in March. Susan and George Graves found her floating 20 yards from a dock on the ocean side in Tavernier. Upon examination, it was discovered that Susan had a 3 1/2 inch long stainless steel hook lodged in her esophagus. The hook was carefully removed at the Turtle Hospital. Susan was treated with a broad spectrum antibiotic, vitamins, and a healthy diet of fish and squid. Now weighing over 100 pounds, Susan is fully recovered and ready to return to her ocean home. See you there!
