Johnny is going “home”. After successful rehabilitation from sever lacerations to the head, shell and flippers (caused by being attacked with a machete), this sub adult Loggerhead Sea Turtle has made a remarkable recovery. (See article in July 2008 archives for the complete story). Johnny will be release from the beach at the oceanside picnic area (Veterans’ Park) on Little Duck Key (the first island at the West end of the Seven Mile Bridge, just before mile marker 40.) Joining the release will be Jack Hanna of “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures” who will be filming for his new show “Into The Wild”
The release will take place at 10 AM on October 14, 2008 and anyone interested is invited to stop by and watch.
