Public Sea Turtle Release

Quick Rehab!

‘Sandy’, a 145lb. subadult Loggerhead, was inadvertently hooked by a fisherman and only required a short stay in rehab before being safely released this morning. After the hook was safely removed by our veternarian Dr. Doug Mader, Sandy was treated with a broad spectrum antibiotic. Healthy and swimming strong, we knew it was best for Sandy to head right back out to sea.

Anne’s beach in Islamorada was packed full with people ready to join in with hospital to say goodbye. We couldn’t have done it without the help of Sandy’s rescuers, Jasmin, Jenny, Javier, Ovidio, and of course the support from all of our followers, thank you!
