Join us for a public sea turtle release on Monday March 9, 2020 at Sombrero Beach in Marathon, FL. The turtle will arrive in the turtle ambulance at 9:30 a.m., with release promptly at 10:00 a.m.
Bring your family and friends to help us cheer for “Vacation Land”! Vacation Land, a beautiful 140 pound loggerhead sea turtle was rescued in February where she was found floating, entangled in trap line off of the 7 mile bridge in the middle Keys. Boaters called in the rescue and Turtle Hospital staff went out with the US Coast Guard Marathon Station to rescue the entangled turtle at sea. Treatment at the Turtle Hospital included broad spectrum antibiotics, wound treatment, and a healthy diet of squid and fish. Vacation Land is healthy and ready to return to her ocean home! Vacation Land will arrive in the turtle ambulance at 9:30 a.m., with release promptly at 10:00 a.m. See you there!
