02/06/2026 Meet Flynn a Juvenile green sea turtle admitted to The Turtle Hospital three days ago he was rescued in Key Largo, Florida, He was found with Fibropapilloma (FP) tumors and floating from cold stunting. Flynn is in critical condition with dangerously low blood levels, he’s scheduled for a CT scan at the human hospital here in Marathon, FL tomorrow morning. If he’s clear of internal tumors, he will receive a blood transfusion tomorrow morning.
02/07/2026 Today, Flynn received a blood transfusion, an important step in stabilizing him as he continues to recover. In addition to complications from cold stunning, Flynn arrived with a heavy load of FP tumors and critically low blood values, making supportive care especially urgent. we extend a heartfelt thank you to Sam, one of our non- releasable resident sea turtles, who served as the Flynn’s blood donor. Sam is unable to return to the wild due to spinal damage from a psst boat strike, but his contribution today played a vital role in giving Flynn a stronger chance at recovery.

03/16/2026 Flynn has been in critical care today his blood levels have dropped too critical levels and received another blood transfusion, Sam one of our residents was his blood donor.
04/27/2026 Flynn has been convalescing at The Turtle Hospital since early February and is now strong enough for FP tumor removal surgery!! We thank Dr. Terry Norton and the vet team at out hospital for working these miracles with our little turtles.
05/26/2026 We are happy to report that Flynn has shown incredible strength through this rehabilitation journey. Since admitted he had two blood transfusions and undergoing surgeries with Dr. Terry. TODAY! Flynn is now TUMOR FREE!!! while he still has a long road ahead with post-surgery chemotherapy treatments. Flynn has been responding beautifully to care and has already made an amazing recovery.
07/07/2026 Flynn had officially gotten his swimming papers!!! After two blood transfusions, months of treatment, and plenty of determination, this little green has made an incredible comeback. Flynn passed his prerelease exam with Dr. Terry and is officially cleared for release.
