BIO: Coastie was rescued by the Fort Pierce Coast Guard in St. Lucie County, Florida on November 2, 1999. Coastie was struck across the head by the propeller of a boat, is missing the posterior end of the carapace, and is a permanent floater. Coastie also arrived at the hospital with a minor case of Fibropapilloma. Coastie has a lead weight fiberglassed to the shell in order to make life here at the hospital as comfortable as possible.

UPDATED: 9/1/18 Had my yearly physical in May. I have not grown very much. Currently weighing in at 59 lbs.
UPDATE: 5/13/2020: Coastie had a physical today, and finally has put on some weight. Currently weighing in at 67 lbs or 30.4 kg.
