One year after Tammy the turtle was treated for Fibropapilloma at The Turtle Hospital, she was released. Each patient with the virus Fibropapilloma remains at the facility a year after surgery to ensure the tumors do not re-grow. Tammy was an exceptional patient and required no additional surgeries for re-growths. To assist in releasing her, a special member of the Episcopal church joined founder Richie Moretti in sending the young turtle back home.
