On Sunday, March 11, The Turtle Hospital released Taia, a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle, at Sombrero Beach. Taia was treated for a bacterial infection of the intestines that caused her to float at the top surface of the water. Her treatment included antibiotics, fluids for hydration, vitamins, a healthy diet, and rest. After almost three months of rehabilitation Taia was ready to go back to life at sea.
