Doctor Gerry Diethelm and Intern Jaclyn Thomas donated their time off from the Marathon Veterinary Hospital to perform surgery at The Turtle Hospital. Rosie, a juvenile Green Sea Turtle, was double teamed, with Dr Gerry using the laser and Jaclyn the radio scalpel to remove numerous fibropapilloma tumors.
This approach allowed all the tumors to be removed in one operation rather than performing two or more procedures with the turtle under anesthesia
