Monay Markey was out boating with her family and found a turtle floating, unable to dive (a few hundred yards south of Spanish Harbor Channel, West of Big Pine Key).
She and her father got the turtle up on the boat after being talked through the rescue process with the FWC.
The sub adult Loggerhead Sea Turtle has lacerations, possibly from a boat prop, to the skull and shoulder area. The turtle is underweight and emaciated.
