Bowser is an adult Loggerhead Sea Turtle and had been rescued from the South side of Content Passage in July 2007. Found floating the turtle was treated for a body cavity infection.
Pepe, also an adult Loggerhead Sea Turtle was rescued by fishermen from Kemp Channel where it was found floating in March 2007. In addition to an infection, the turtle had “lock jaw” and was required to undergo daily physical therapy to regain the ability to be able to open it’s mouth wide enough for feeding.
BOWSER and PEPE were released off of Pigeon Key (just North of the 7 Mile Bridge in Marathon).
