Sea turtle lover Leah Schick is helping raise money for the turtle hospital in a very unique way. This bright, young 8th grader has written the book “Akuti” which is a fictional story about a family of sea turtles and their interactions with humans. Leah was inspired to write the book after she visited the turtle hospital right here in Marathon. She wants to make people aware of the impacts that humans have on sea turtles. “Akuti” is available for purchase online by clicking here. Proceeds from the book sales are donated to the turtle hospital, and over $300.00 have already been raised by Leah in our support. We are constantly amazed by the generosity of our fans. Thanks Leah!
