Public Sea Turtle Release

New Patient “Boo”

Our newest patient “Boo” is settling in after his/her rescue in Key West last Tuesday. Thanks to The Key West Wildlife Center for helping get Boo to safety. Boo is debilitated and carries a heavy load of FP tumors, we can’t wait to get this cutie cleaned up!!

Check out the pictures to see rehabber Courtney in one of our ‘ambulances’ as she checks the turtle’s heart rate using a doppler! A sea turtle’s heart rate is usually 20-30 beats per minute, but can vary. It is a great tool to evaluate the turtle’s condition!
