Status Report
- 06/22/2026 Swim Shady, a juvenile green sea turtle, was rescued in the Middle Keys after being found floating at the surface. During her intake examination, our veterinary team performed X‑rays and discovered a significant amount of intestinal gas, which can make it difficult for sea turtles to dive and swim normally.For now, Swim Shady is settling into the hospital while we work to determine what caused the gas buildup and develop the best treatment plan. With time, diagnostics, and supportive care, we’re hopeful she’ll be feeling more like herself soon.
- 07/01/2026 Swim shady had been settling in well and is already showing a great appetite. while he’s been interested in the squid were offering, he’s absolutely ravenous for fresh sea grass!
