Public Sea Turtle Release

Monroe County Schools Learn About Turtles

Over the past month, The Turtle Hospital has seen more then 200 elementary students walk through its doors.  Starting with the Easter weekend and continuing through June 7, the official last day of school in the Keys, Monroe Country schools can attend one of our educational programs for free.  Gradeschool children have challenged our staff’s sea turtle knowledge with intriguing questions.  Some of the classes have followed up with letters detailing what they learned, as well as describing their favorite part of the education program.

As a rehabilitation and education center for these endangered reptiles, we hope to continue to give a voice to sea turtles through the human future generation.  Thank you to all of the Monroe County classes that have visited us!
