Once again, Captain Spider hosted his weekly Casting Contest on Thursday, September 29, with proceeds going to The Turtle Hospital. Captain Spider holds his casting contest every Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm at Salty’s at 7 Mile Marina in Marathon. Each Thursday, he picks a different local charity that receives the proceeds. We thank him and admire him for his dedication and support.
Residents and tourists alike showed up to cast their rods and win big for Sea Turtles. We’d like to send a big congratulations to Jonathan Close who casted by far the highest score of 100 points, winning the night’s event. Pictured below is Jonathan and Captain Spider at the end of the contest.
We’d also like to thank “Team Caleb” (pictured below) for taking time from his bachelor party to help support Captain Spider’s event and The Turtle Hospital.
