Come to Key West this Sunday, August 21, at 4:00 PM to see the release of Henderson, a 100-pound loggerhead sea turtle, off of Higg’s Beach in front of Salute Restaurant. During his almost six-month stay, Henderson has become a favorite of Hospital staff and visitors. Affectionately called “Hendo” by Hospital staff, he was a very sick turtle suffering from an intestinal impaction. He survived thanks to the excellent care of Veterinarian Doug Mader of Marathon Veterinary Hospital and caregivers who nursed him back to health and tube fed him through the rough times.
