Lola was rescued from North Key Largo on December 03, 2004. Lola had ingested fishing line and had also been entangled in fishing line on his front flippers. He also required surgery to remove fibropapilloma from his eye. The above photo of Lola shows how grasses and algae start to grow on turtles that are slow moving and float on the surface.
RELEASED: Lola was released along with seven other sea turtle companions at John Sawyer Bank on October 27, 2005. John Sawyer Bank is located a few miles off of Marathon, in the Florida Bay.
