An employee at the La Siesta Resort on Upper Matecumbe Key found a floating Loggerhead less than a mile offshore. With some difficulty, Heidi (the rescuer) was able to get the sub adult turtle on to her jet ski and transported to shore.

The turtle was very emaciated and x-rays found an intestine impaction. Treatment is antibiotics, vitamins and laxatives.
