Named because of the chip out of his beak, this juvenile Green sea turtle was rescued on February 22, 2000 from Brevard County, Florida. Chip had one small Fibropapilloma tumor on the rear flipper, possible boat hit, has microphthalmos in his right eye, an unnatural smallness of the eyes, occurring as the result of disease or of imperfect development (likely to be caused by the prevalence by environmental immoralities, particularly those relating to temperature incubation). Chip has been proof to the hospital staff that finding the perfect weights on permanent floaters is no easy task. Chip is currently being fitted with a lead weight to make his life at the hospital more comfortable.
