Public Sea Turtle Release

Update on Jolly

Our largest patient, Jolly at 330 lbs, has recently received some good news. Her stitches were removed last week and she will be released sometime over the next few weeks!

Jolly arrived February 8th with 3 trap lines entangled around her right rear flipper. The following week our veterinarian, Dr. Doug Mader, amputated part of her flipper due to damage.

Jolly is swimming well and looking good. When she is released, she’ll have no problems adjusting in the wild. Sea turtles are able to swim perfectly fine with 3 flippers.
