Dr. Doug Mader stopped by the hospital today to examine Kala’s healing progress since having her right front flipper amputated approximately a month ago.  Rehab specialists were called in to assist with the removal of this sea turtle from her tank for examination.  Dr. Mader was able to successfully remove all stitches from her amputation site.  With the continued care from the rehabilitation specialists at the Turtle Hospital, we hope to release Kala in roughly a month’s time.  Until that time, she will be closely monitored in her continued recovery.
