The day finally arrived when Mallory, a juvenile green, had strong enough blood chemistry to undergo laser surgery for FP tumor removals. Mallory came in malnourished as is typical of a turtle afflicted with FP. The tumors draw energy and their own blood supply from a turtle’s body.
Mallory’s right eye was also removed, having been taken over by not one but two of the aggressive fibropapilloma tumors. After being heavily bandaged up post-surgery (and looking mighty cute with the rainbow vet wrap), she is recuperating in her rehab tank.
