Join the Turtle Hospital Team to Say Farwell to Melania

Bring your family and friends to help cheer for Melania, a 50 pound juvenile green sea turtle returning to her ocean home.

• When: Wednesday, December 4th
• Where: Memorial Beach, Cheeca Lodge, 81801 Overseas Highway, Islamorada.
• Time: Arrive early to get a good spot!
  • The Turtle Hospital ambulance will arrive with Melania at 4:15pm. Melania will be released at 4:30 pm

Melania was found entangled in a lobster trap line with Fibropapilloma tumors struggling at the surface off Islamorada in August. Melania was rescued by a local fishing charter and taken to The Turtle Hospital for treatment. This included tumor removal surgeries, wound care, antibiotics, fluids, vitamins, and support from our rehab team. Melania is now strong and healthy, ready to return to the sea!
